In 1959, long before the Americans With Disabilities Act, FAPE and IDEA, a small group of parents in Montgomery County came together to form a group that would do everything possible to help their deaf and hard-of-hearing children succeed, both in the classroom and out. Working with teachers and administrators, MCAHIC became a strong voice for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their families. Today, MCAHIC serves over 400 deaf and hard-of-hearing students enrolled in the Montgomery County Public School System and their families with a wide variety of programs and services.
To celebrate MCAHIC's 55th Anniversary, we've started our "55 for 55" Campaign. The campaign is a great way to celebrate the wonderful work of the many teachers and staff members who supported our deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families both through the years and now.
Please consider a $55 donation to help make MCAHIC's 55th anniversary a truly memorable year. To make your donation to the campaign, just click on the "Donate" button to make an online gift, or if you'd rather send in a check, please make it out to MCAHIC and note "55 for 55" on the check. Please also note the teacher or staff member whom you would like to honor. If you use the online option, add the note in the "Special Instructions" box on the payment review page.
All monies raised through this campaign will be dedicated to our professional development fund, which provides resources for D/HOH teachers and staff to attend conferences and workshops that will directly impact the education of our deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
Please contact us if you have any questions about the 55 for 55 Campaign.
Thanks so much for your help and support!
